Choosing a name
When we found out that we were having a baby girl, we both said we would write up a list of names each and then go through them. I wrote a list fairly quickly and Cae rejected every single one of them -_-
He contributed a few which I won't disclose as I found them ridiculous and I don't want to offend anyone :') I had it all thought out if we had a boy, middle name and everything as that's what we were adamant we were having. We hadn't even considered any girl's names.
Choosing a name for your baby can be a difficult task, especially if you and your partner can't agree. You need to consider so many things when choosing a name and I'll list a few below.
♥ Choose a name that suits your surname You don't really want any name that rhymes but one that will flow nicely with your surname. Always consider the initials and what they spell out. You don't want to be cruel to your child and have initials that spell out P.I.G etc
♥ Will other people be able to spell it? I think with some names you're always going to have his problem. I always get asked if my name is with a G and 2 Ms and Caeron always gets pronounced Karen...That was a fun day at his graduation ;)
♥ Any family names that can be used? This tip can be handy for middle names but there weren't any names on either side of our families that we liked to use for a baby girl's middle name. If there's one you both like, definitely use it :)
♥ Any unfortunate memories? If he absolutely loves a name but it reminds you of your ex or someone horrid from secondary school then you don't really want to give your adorable baby the same name.
♥ Do you like the shortened version? It's highly likely that if you choose a name like Olivia, this will be shortened by family and friends alike. Make sure you are comfortable and equally like the short version :)
♥ Do you both love the name? Finding something you both like can be very tricky. Our tip is to make a list and discuss it together <3
A lot of people will say to wait until they are born and see if the name fits the face but I think when you both fall in love with a name, you should stick to your choice :)
